Here at Bakels we are currently recruiting for an NPD Technologist.
The role would be to deliver product development projects which exceed customer expectations in a timely manner and to strive to continually improve the service which NPD provides to internal and external customers by driving process and efficiency improvements. This also includes to increase sales through new product development and launches.
Key Responsibilities
Project delivery
Delivery of Product development projects.
Technical Expertise
Using technical expertise to deliver solutions to customer requests (a primary skill such as Confectionery, Yeast Raised, or other area to be determined).
Process
Following the Bakels Stage Gate process to deliver projects in a thorough and controlled manner.
Prioritisation
Prioritising projects so that the most valuable projects are delivered.
Team Membership
Working as part of the NPD team as well as leading cross functional teams to use the best business resources to achieve successful results.
Customer interaction
Representing Bakels NPD in front of key customers.
Management
Supporting the Team Manager in driving change and continuous improvement through the team.
Quality
Ensure that new products have accurate and realistic QA checks and tolerances at launch. Liaise with the Quality and Production teams to ensure that product quality is right at launch and is then maintained on all ongoing productions.
Requirements
- Upper second class degree in Food Science or an equivalent subject.
- At least 2 years relevant experience in a product development or technical bakery role.
- A successful applicant will be a team player and work well cross functionally with other areas of the business to deliver project objectives.
